Miyuki Fukuma

PROFILE

After completing graduate studies at the University of Tokyo and studying abroad, Miyuki Fukuma began working on filmmaking including STILL WALKING (2008, Dir.Kore-eda Hirokazu) and SWAY (2006, Dir. Miwa Nishikawa).
She joined Tokyo-based production company BUNBUKU as one of the founding members in 2014, and in charge of producing and international strategies of various award-winning projects.
She is notably the producer of Kore-eda Hirokazu’s BROKER (2022, Korea) which won the Best Actor Award (Song Kang-ho) and the Ecumenical Jury Award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival as well as THE TRUTH (2019), a French-Japanese co-production starring Catherine Deneuve and Juliette Binoche, which premiered in Competition at the 76th Venice International Film.
She has also produced Japan-Hong Kong anthology feature TEN YEARS JAPAN (2018, Dir. Chie Hayakawa, Kei Ishikawa, Megumi Tsuno, Yusuke Kinoshita and Akiyo Fujimura) and UNTITLED, HUMAN MASK (2014, France) by internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Pierre Huyghe.
Her latest films are “Asura” (2025/ directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda), a Netflix series remake of Kuniko Mukoda's masterpiece home drama, and “A Pale view of Hills” ,a Japanese-British-Polish co-production based on the debut novel by Kazuo Ishiguro (2025/ directed by Kei Ishikawa / Official Selection, Un Certain Regard section, 78th Cannes Film Festival).
