PROFILE

Born in 1987 in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Graduated from Musashino Art University.
She has been a member of Bun-buku since 2011,worked as an assistant director under directors Hirokazu Kore-eda and Miwa Nishikawa.
She made her debut as an original writer-director in 2007 with “夜明け(His Lost Name)” about a father-son relationship between a young man with a secret and a man in a woodworking shop.
The film was entered in the 23rd Busan International Film Festival. She received Special Mention at the 19th TOKYO FILMeX and the Grand Prix for Emerging Directors at the 34th Takasaki Film Festival.
In December of the same year, released “つつんで、ひらいて(book-paper-scissors)”, a documentary film about Nobuyoshi Kikuchi, a binding artist. She received a Special Mention at the 20th TOKYO FILMeX.
She also directed episodes 3 and 5 of the drama “Junichi” (original story by Areno Inoue), as well as the Asahi Broadcasting TV drama series "Sore demo Ai wo Chikaimasuka? (original story by Keiku Hagiwara), for which she served as the main director.
